Atlantic Center for the Arts

Since 1977, Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach has fostered a spirit of innovation and collaboration among the world’s greatest writers, painters, sculptors, choreographers and composers. Founded by artist and environmentalist Doris Leeper (1929-2000), who’s remarkable vision remains the mission and driving force of the institute to this day, over 4,000 acclaimed artists worldwide have worked at Atlantic Center during 155 residencies. At the same time, Atlantic Center impacts the Central Florida community, touching the lives of over 50,000 children, teens and adults annually, building self-esteem and creativity and enhancing quality of life.
